The
Senate stands adjourned until 10:30am
on Tuesday, February 2, 2021.
Following Leader remarks, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session to consider Executive Calendar #5, Peter Paul Montgomery Buttigieg, of Indiana, to be Secretary of Transportation. The time until 12:00 noon will be equally divided between the two Leaders or their designees. At 12:00 noon, the Senate will vote on confirmation of the Buttigieg nomination.
Following disposition of the Buttigieg nomination, the Senate will resume consideration of Executive Calendar #4, Alejandro Nicholas Mayorkas, of the District of Columbia, to be Secretary of Homeland Security, and then recess until 2:15pm to allow for the weekly caucus meetings.
At 2:30pm, the Senate will vote on confirmation of the Mayorkas nomination.
The Senate is expected to consider a budget resolution this week, beginning as early as Tuesday. Additional roll call votes are possible during Tuesday’s session.
