The
Senate stands adjourned for pro forma sessions only, with no business being
conducted on the following dates and times:
Tuesday, February 16th at 10:00am
Friday, February 19th at 10:15am
When the Senate stands adjourned on February 19th, the Senate will next convene at 3:00pm on Monday, February 22nd. Following the prayer and pledge, Senator Portman will be recognized to deliver Washington’s Farewell Address.
Following the address, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session to consider Executive Calendar #10, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, of Louisiana, to be the Representative of the United States of America to the United Nations, with the rank and status of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, and the Representative of the United States of America in the Security Council of the United Nations.
Cloture has also been filed on Executive Calendar #11, Thomas-Greenfield, of Louisiana, to be Representative of the United States of America to the Sessions of the General Assembly of the United Nations during her tenure of service as Representative of the United States of America to the United Nations.
At a time to be determined on Tuesday, February 23, 2021, notwithstanding Rule 22, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session to consider Executive Calendar #7, Thomas J. Vilsack, of Iowa, to be Secretary of Agriculture. There will be 20 minutes for debate, equally divided between the two Leaders or their designees. Following the use or yielding back of that time, the Senate will vote on confirmation of the nomination.
