The
Senate stands adjourned until 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 25, 2021.
Following Leader remarks, the motion to proceed to Calendar #11, H.R.1799, will be agreed to, as provided for under the previous order. The only amendments in order are Kennedy #1401 and Rubio #1405. We expect Senator Paul to raise a Budget Act point of order against the bill and a motion to waive all applicable points of order to be made.
At 10:45am, we expect 4 roll call votes. Those votes would be on the Kennedy and Rubio amendments, a motion to waive all applicable Budget Act points of order, and on passage of the bill, as amended, if amended, with a 60-affirmative vote required for passage.
As a reminder, the Senate will vote to confirm Executive Calendar #30 Adewale O. Adeyemo, of California, to be Deputy Secretary of the Treasury, during Thursday’s session of the Senate.
There is also an effort to reach an agreement to consider H.R.1868, Medicare, Medicaid, and the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, which provided additional relief to address the ongoing impact of COVID-19. It is possible that the Senate will reach an agreement that would result in roll call votes in relation to an amendment (or amendments) to the bill and on passage of the bill, as amended by the Shaheen-Collins substitute. Senators will be notified as any additional information is available.
Thursday, March 25th at 10:45am – 4 roll call votes:
1. Kennedy amendment #1401 (majority vote threshold)
2. Rubio amendment #1405 (majority vote threshold)
3. Motion to waive Budget Act point of order, if raised (60-vote threshold)
4. Passage of H.R.1799, PPP Extension Act, as amended, if amended (60-vote threshold)
Additional roll call votes are expected during Thursday’s session of the Senate.
