The Senate
stands adjourned until 10:00am on Wednesday, May 12, 2021.
Following Leader remarks, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session and resume consideration of the motion to discharge the nomination of Chiquita Brooks-LaSure to be Administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services from the Finance Committee.
At 12:00 Noon, the Senate will vote on the motion to discharge the Brooks-LaSure nomination. Following disposition of the nomination, the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #108, Ronald Stroman, of the District of Columbia, to be a Governor of the United States Postal Service for a term expiring December 8, 2021.
If cloture is invoked, at 3:30pm the Senate will vote on confirmation of the Stroman nomination (Cal #108) and on the motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #109, Ronald Stroman, of the District of Columbia, to be a Governor of the United States Postal Service for a term expiring December 8, 2028.
If cloture is invoked on the Stroman nomination (Cal #109) there will be up to 2 hours for debate followed by a vote on confirmation of the nomination followed by a vote on the motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #110, Amber McReynolds, of Colorado, to be a Governor of the United States Postal Service for a term expiring December 8, 2026.
Cloture has been filed on the following nominations:
1. Executive Calendar #108, Ronald Stroman, of the District of Columbia, to be a Governor of the United States Postal Service for a term expiring December 8, 2021.
2. Executive Calendar #109, Ronald Stroman, of the District of Columbia, to be a Governor of the United States Postal Service for a term expiring December 8, 2028.
3. Executive Calendar #110, Amber McReynolds, of Colorado, to be a Governor of the United States Postal Service for a term expiring December 8, 2026.
4. Executive Calendar #112, Donet Graves, Jr., of Ohio, to be Deputy Secretary of Commerce.
