The Senate

Following Leader remarks, the Senate will proceed to the consideration of Calendar #137, H.R.5305, Extending Government Funding and Delivering Emergency Assistance Act. Senator Leahy or his designee will then be recognized to offer substitute amendment #3830, with the only other amendments in order to the bill being Cotton #3833 (re: Afghanistan refugees), Marshall #3831 (re: Vaccine mandate), and Braun #3832 (re: No Budget No Pay).
At 10:30am, the Senate will vote on the following in relation to the continuing resolution:
1. Cotton #3833 (re: Afghanistan refugees)
2. Marshall #3831 (re: Vaccine mandate) [60-vote threshold]
3. Braun #3832 (re: No Budget No Pay) [60-vote threshold]
Leahy substitute amendment #3830, as amended, if amended (voice vote expected)
4. Passage of H.R.5305 (CR to December 3rd), as amended [60-vote threshold]
Following disposition of the CR, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session to consider Executive Calendar #354, Rohit Chopra, to be Director, CFPB. There will be an immediate cloture vote on the Chopra nomination and, if cloture is invoked, up to 2 hours of debate prior to a vote on confirmation of the nomination.
Immediately upon disposition of the Chopra nomination, the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #293, Tracy Stone-Manning, to be Director of the Bureau of Land Management. Upon the use or yielding back of the 2 hours post-cloture debate time, the Senate will vote on confirmation of the Stone-Manning nomination.
As a reminder, during Wednesday’s session of the Senate an agreement was reached that at a time to be determined on Thursday, September 30th, the Senate vote on confirmation of Executive Calendar #159, Jonathan Eugene Meyer, of Ohio, to be General Counsel, Department of Homeland Security.
