The
Senate stands adjourned until
10:00am on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, and does so under the provisions of
S.Res.470 as a further mark of respect to the Honorable Robert ‘‘Bob’’ J. Dole,
former United States Senator for the State of Kansas.
Following Leader remarks, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session and resume consideration of Executive Calendar #567, Jessica Rosenworcel, of Connecticut, to be a Member of the Federal Communications Commission, post-cloture.
At approximately 11:30am, the Senate will vote on confirmation of the Rosenworcel nomination and cloture on Executive Calendar #480, Dierdre Hamilton, of the District of Columbia, to be a Member of the National Mediation Board.
Following the Hamilton cloture vote, the Senate will recess until 2:15pm to allow for the weekly caucus meetings.
If cloture is invoked on the Hamilton nomination, at approximately 2:15pm, the Senate will vote on confirmation of the Hamilton nomination, and cloture on Executive Calendar #513, Chris Magnus, of Arizona, to be Commissioner of US Customs and Border Protection.
If cloture is invoked on the Magnus nomination, at approximately 5:30pm, the Senate will vote on confirmation of the nomination.
As early as during Tuesday’s session, the Senate may consider S.J.Res.31, providing for congressional disapproval of the proposed foreign military sale to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia of certain defense articles. This week, the Senate may also consider S.J.Res.29, providing for congressional disapproval under chapter 8 of title 5, United States Code, of the rule submitted by the Department of Labor relating to "COVID-19 Vaccination and Testing; Emergency Temporary Standard".
During Monday’s session, Senator Schumer filed cloture on the following nominations:
1. Executive Calendar #585, Rachael S. Rollins, of Massachusetts, to be United States Attorney for the District of Massachusetts for the term of four years.
2. Executive Calendar #482, Michael D. Smith, of Virginia, to be Chief Executive Officer of the Corporation for National and Community Service.
