The Senate stands adjourned until 10:00am on Wednesday, March 8, 2023

 

Following Leader remarks, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session and resume consideration of Executive Calendar #45 Patrice H. Kunesh, of Minnesota, to be Commissioner of the Administration for Native Americans, Department of Health and Human Services, post-cloture.

 

At approximately 10:45am, the Senate will vote on confirmation of the Kunesh nomination and on cloture on the Werfel nomination (IRS). If cloture is invoked, the confirmation vote is expected to occur upon disposition of H.J.Res.26, disapproving the action of the District of Columbia Council in approving the Revised Criminal Code Act of 2022.

 

Following the cloture vote on the Werfel nomination, the Senate will resume Legislative Session and Senator Hagerty or his designee will be recognized to make a motion to discharge the Committee on Homeland Security and Government Affairs from further consideration of H.J.Res.26. If the motion is made, all time on the motion will be considered yielded back and the Senate will vote on the motion to discharge. If the motion is agreed to, Senator Hagerty or his designee will be recognized to make a motion to proceed. Both the motion to discharge and the motion to proceed are expected to be voice votes.

 

Roll call votes on passage of the joint resolution and on confirmation of the Werfel nomination are expected Wednesday evening, at approximately 5:15pm.

2.      Motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #61 Daniel I. Werfel, of the District of Columbia, to be Commissioner of Internal Revenue

 

Wednesday, March 8th at approx. 5:15pm – 2 roll call votes:

1.      Passage of H.J.Res.26, disapproving the action of the District of Columbia Council in approving the Revised Criminal Code Act of 2022

2.      Confirmation of Executive Calendar #61 Daniel I. Werfel, of the District of Columbia, to be Commissioner of Internal Revenue
