The Senate

Following Leader remarks, the Senate will resume consideration of Executive Calendar #123, Orelia Eleta Merchant, of New York, to be US District Judge for the Eastern District of New York, post-cloture.
At approximately 11:30am, the Senate will vote on confirmation of the Merchant nomination and cloture on Executive Calendar #127 Wesley L. Hsu, of California, to be United States District Judge for the Central District of California.
Following the cloture vote on the Hsu nomination, notwithstanding Rule 22, the Senate will resume Legislative Session. The Committee on Environment and Public Works will be discharged from further consideration of S.J.Res.9, and the Senate will proceed to the en bloc consideration of H.J.Res.39, which was received from the House and S.J.Res.9.
At approximately 6:15pm, the Senate will vote on passage of the joint resolutions in the order previously listed, with 15 minutes for debate, equally divided between the two Leaders or their designees, between the votes on the joint resolutions. Following disposition of the joint resolutions, if cloture has been invoked on the Hsu nomination, the Senate will vote on confirmation of the nomination and on cloture on Executive Calendar #125 LaShonda A. Hunt, of Illinois, to be United States District Judge for the Northern District of Illinois.
