The Senate
stands adjourned until 10:00am on Wednesday, October 4, 2023.
Following Leader remarks, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session and resume consideration of Executive Calendar #319 James C. O'Brien, of Nebraska, to be Assistant Secretary of State (European and Eurasian Affairs), post-cloture.
At approximately 11:30am, the Senate will vote on confirmation of the O’Brien nomination. Following disposition of the nomination, the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #176 Brendan Abell Hurson, of Maryland, to be United States District Judge for the District of Maryland.
Following the cloture vote, the Senate will recess until 2:15pm to allow for the weekly caucus meetings.
If cloture is invoked on the Hurson nomination, at approximately 2:15pm, the Senate will vote on confirmation of the Hurson nomination. Following disposition of the nomination, the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #264 Susan Kim DeClercq, of Michigan, to be United States District Judge for the Eastern District of Michigan.
If cloture is invoked on the DeClercq nomination, at approximately 5:30pm, the Senate will vote on confirmation of the nomination.
