The Senate stands adjourned until 10:00am on Tuesday, October 31, 2023.
Following Leader remarks, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session for the consideration of Executive Calendar #306, Matthew James Maddox, of Maryland, to be United States District Judge for the District of Maryland, post-cloture.
At 11:30am the post-cloture time will be considered expired and the Senate will vote on confirmation of the Maddox nomination. Upon disposition of the Maddox nomination the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #370, Jacob J. Lew, of New York, to be Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the State of Israel.
The Senate will then recess until 2:15pm to allow for weekly caucus meetings.
If cloture is invoked on the Lew nomination, the post-cloture time will be considered expired at 2:30pm and the Senate will vote on confirmation of the nomination. Following disposition of the Lew nomination the Senate will resume consideration of Cal. #198, H.R. 4366, Minibus appropriations.
