The Senate
stands adjourned until 11:00am on Thursday, January 18, 2024.
Following Leader remarks, the Senate will resume consideration of Calendar #243, H.R.2872, the legislative vehicle for the Continuing Resolution. During Wednesday’s session, Senator Schumer made Murray substitute amendment #1381 pending.
The Senate has reached an agreement to complete action on the Continuing Resolution. The only amendments in order H.R.2872 are the following:
Paul amendment #1384 (re: limiting Palestinian foreign assistance)
Marshall motion to commit (re: full year CR)
Braun amendment #1382 (re: REIN IN Act)
At approximately 12:30pm, the Senate will vote on adoption of the amendments in the order listed, with each subject to 60-affirmative votes required for adoption, with the exception of the Marshall motion to commit. There will be 2 minutes for debate equally divided prior to each vote. Following disposition of the amendments listed, the Senate will vote on Murray substitute amendment #1381, as amended if amended. Upon disposition of the substitute amendment, as amended if amended, the bill will be considered read a third time, and the Senate will vote on passage of the bill, as amended if amended, with 60-affirmative votes required for passage.
