The Senate stands adjourned until 10:00am on Thursday, February 29, 2024.

 

Following Leader remarks, the Senate will resume consideration of Executive Calendar #514 Marjorie Rollinson, of Virginia, to be Chief Counsel for the Internal Revenue Service and an Assistant General Counsel in the Department of the Treasury, post-cloture.

 

At approximately 11:30am, the Senate will vote on confirmation of the Rollinson nomination. Following disposition of the nomination, the Senate will vote on passage of S.J.Res.38, providing for congressional disapproval under chapter 8 of title 5, United States Code, of the rule submitted by the Federal Highway Administration relating to "Waiver of Buy America Requirements for Electric Vehicle Chargers", the objections of the President to the contrary notwithstanding.

 

Following disposition of the veto message, the Senate will resume Executive Session to proceed to the consideration of Executive Calendar #518, Ronald Keohane, to be Assistant Secretary of Defense.

 

During Thursday’s session, the Senate is expected to vote in relation to a Paul motion to discharge S.J.Res.60, providing for congressional disapproval of the proposed foreign military sale to the Government of Turkiye of certain defense articles and services, and H.J.Res.98, providing for congressional disapproval under chapter 8 of title 5, United States Code, of the rule submitted by the National Labor Relations Board relating to "Standard for Determining Joint Employer Status".

 

Discussions continue on a path to expeditiously consider a Continuing Resolution.
