Schedule for State of the Union and Friday, March 8, 2024

The Senate stands in recess until 8:20pm. Senators should plan to gather in the Senate Chamber at 8:20pm and then proceed to the House Chamber at 8:25pm. At 9:00pm, the President of the United States will deliver the State of the Union address before a Joint Session of Congress.

Upon dissolution of the Joint Session, the Senate will adjourn until 10:00am on Friday, March 8, 2024.

The Senate will resume consideration of the House Message to accompany H.R.4366, Consolidated Appropriations. The cloture motion on the motion to concur is set to ripen at 12:00 noon, but Senators should expect a Live Quorum at approximately 10:00am. Senators should report to the Senate floor at that time.

Discussions continue on a path to complete action on the appropriations bill. Additional votes are expected during Friday’s session.
