Schedule for Wednesday, May 22, 2024

The Senate stands adjourned until 10:00am on Wednesday, May 22, 2024.

 

Following Leader remarks, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session to resume consideration of Executive Calendar #600, Angela Martinez, to be US District Judge for the District of Arizona, post-cloture.

 

At approximately 11:30am, the Senate will vote on confirmation of the Martinez nomination.  The Senate will then vote on the motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #571 Dena M. Coggins, of California, to be United States District Judge for the Eastern District of California.

 

If cloture is invoked on the Coggins nomination, the post-cloture time will be considered expired at approx. 3:15pm and the Senate will vote on confirmation of the nomination followed by the motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #552 Melissa Griffin Dalton, of Virginia, to be Under Secretary of the Air Force.

 

During Tuesday’s session Senator Schumer filed cloture on the motion to proceed to Cal. #397, S.4361 - A bill making emergency supplemental appropriations for border security and combating fentanyl for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2024, and for other purposes. 

 

Wednesday, May 22nd at approx. 11:30am –  2 roll call votes:

  1. Confirmation of Executive Calendar #600, Angela Martinez, to be US District Judge for the District of Arizona
  2. Motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #571 Dena M. Coggins, of California, to be United States District Judge for the Eastern District of California
