The Senate stands in recess until 10:00am on Friday, December 20, 2024.

 

Following Leader remarks, the Senate will be Executive Session considering Executive Calendar #849 Benjamin J. Cheeks, of California, to be United States District Judge for the Southern District of California.

 

At approximately 11:00am, the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the Cheeks nomination.

 

If cloture is invoked, there will be up to 2 hours of debate prior to a vote on confirmation of the nomination. Following disposition of the Cheeks nomination, the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #850 Serena Raquel Murillo, of California, to be United States District Judge for the Central District of California.

 

If cloture is invoked, there will be up to 2 hours of debate prior to a vote on confirmation of the nomination.

 

The Senate is expected to resume consideration of Calendar #693, H.R.82, Social Security Fairness Act during Friday’s session. Discussions are ongoing on path forward on that bill and the Continuing Resolution.
