Schedule for pro forma session and Tuesday, February 18, 2025

The Senate stands adjourned until 9:00am on Friday, February 14, 2025 for a pro forma session only with no business conducted.

When the Senate adjourns on Friday, it will next convene at 3:00pm on Tuesday, February 18, 2025.

 

Following the prayer and pledge, Senator Wicker will be recognized to deliver Washington’s Farewell Address.

 

Following the Address, the Senate will be in a period of morning business with senators permitted to speak therein for up to 10 minutes each.

 

At 5:30pm, Senator Thune will be recognized. At that time, Senator Thune is expected to move to proceed to Executive Session for the consideration of Executive Calendar #23 Kashyap Patel, of Nevada, to be Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation for a term of ten years. A roll call vote is expected on that motion. If the motion is made and agreed to, Senator Thune intends to file cloture on the nomination.

 

Following that vote, the Senate is expected to vote on confirmation of Executive Calendar #19 Howard Lutnick, of New York, to be Secretary of Commerce.

 

Additional votes are possible Tuesday evening in relation to a motion to proceed to Cal. #13 S.Con.Res.7, Budget resolution, or confirmation of Executive Calendar #20 Kelly Loeffler, of Georgia, to be Administrator of the Small Business Administration. Another message will be sent when more information is available.

 

Tuesday, February 18th at approx. 5:30pm – at least 2 roll call votes expected:

1.      Motion to proceed to Executive Session for the consideration of Executive Calendar #23 Kashyap Patel, of Nevada, to be Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation for a term of ten years.

2.      Confirmation of Executive Calendar #19 Howard Lutnick, of New York, to be Secretary of Commerce.
