The Senate stands adjourned until 10:00am on Thursday, March 13, 2025.
Following Leader remarks, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session and resume consideration of Executive Calendar #30, William Pulte, to be Director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency for a term of five years.
At approximately 10:45am the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the Pulte nomination. If cloture is invoked on the Pulte nomination, all post-cloture time will be considered expired at approx. 1:00pm and the Senate will vote on confirmation of the nomination, followed by the motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #32, Jeffrey Kessler, to be Under Secretary of Commerce for Industry and Security.
If cloture is invoked on the Kessler nomination, all post-cloture time will be considered expired at approximately 4:30pm and the Senate will vote on confirmation of the nomination, followed by a vote on the motion to invoke cloture on Calendar #18, S.331 HALT Fentanyl Act.
During Wednesday’s Session, Senator Thune filed cloture on the following:
1. Executive Calendar #35, Stephen Feinberg, to be Deputy Secretary of Defense
2. Motion to proceed to Cal. #26, H.R. 1968, Full-Year Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act, 2025
3. Executive Calendar #36, John Phelan, to be Secretary of the Navy
The filing deadline for second degree amendments to Cal. #18, S.331 HALT Fentanyl act is one hour prior to the cloture vote if cloture is invoked.
