The Senate stands adjourned until 10:00am on Wednesday, March 26, 2025.
Following Leader remarks, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session and resume consideration of Executive Calendar #39, James Bishop, of North Carolina, to be Deputy Director of the Office of Management and Budget, post-cloture.
At approximately 11:00am, the Senate will vote on confirmation of the Bishop nomination. Following disposition of the nomination, the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #48, Aaron Reitz, of Texas, to be an Assistant Attorney General.
If cloture is invoked, there will be up to 2 hours of debate. Upon the use or yielding back of time, the Senate is expected to vote on confirmation of the Reitz nomination. Following disposition of the nomination, the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #51, Michael Faulkender, of Maryland, to be Deputy Secretary of the Treasury.
If cloture is invoked, there will be up to 2 hours of debate. Upon the use or yielding back of time, the Senate will vote on confirmation of the Faulkender nomination. Following disposition of the Faulkender nomination, Senators should expect a roll call vote on a motion to proceed to H.J.Res.25, disapproving the rule submitted by the Internal Revenue Service relating to "Gross Proceeds Reporting by Brokers That Regularly Provide Services Effectuating Digital Asset Sales".
If the motion to proceed is made and agreed to, Senators should expect a vote on passage of H.J.Res.25 during Wednesday’s session. Upon disposition of H.J.Res.25, Senators should expect a roll call vote on a motion to proceed to S.J.Res.18, disapproving the rule submitted by the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection relating to "Overdraft Lending: Very Large Financial Institutions".
During Tuesday’s session, Senator Thune filed cloture on Executive Calendar #43, Paul Lawrence, of Virginia, to be Deputy Secretary of Veterans Affairs. Consideration of the nomination is expected on Thursday.
