The Senate stands adjourned until 10:00am on Wednesday, April 2, 2025.
Following Leader remarks, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session and resume consideration of Executive Calendar #46, Dean Sauer, to be Solicitor General of the United States.
At approximately 2:15pm the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the Sauer nomination followed by the motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #47, Harmeet Dhillon, to be an Assistant Attorney General.
If cloture is invoked on the Sauer or Dhillon nominations, the Senate will vote at a time to be determined by the Majority Leader, in consultation with the Democratic Leader, during Wednesday’s session, on confirmation of the nominations.
During Wednesday’s session we expect to execute the order with respect to S.J.Res.37, A joint resolution terminating the national emergency declared to impose duties on articles imported from Canada. At a time to be determined by the Majority Leader, following consultation with the Democratic Leader, S.J.Res.37 will be discharged from the Committee on Finance and the Senate will proceed to its immediate consideration. There will be up to 6 hours for debate only with the time equally divided between the Leaders or their designees. Following the use or yielding back of that time, the Senate will vote on passage of the joint resolution.
On Tuesday cloture was filed on Executive Calendar #53, Mehmet Oz, of Pennsylvania, to be Administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Consideration is expected during Thursday’s session.
