The Senate stands adjourned until 10:00am on Tuesday, April 8, 2025.

 

Following Leader remarks, the Senate will be in a period of morning business with senators permitted to speak therein for up to 10 minutes each.

 

At approximately 11:30am, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session and vote on confirmation of Executive Calendar #56 Elbridge Colby, of the District of Columbia, to be Under Secretary of Defense for Policy. Following disposition of the nomination, the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #54 George Glass, of Oregon, to be Ambassador to Japan.

 

Following the cloture vote, the Senate will recess until 2:15pm to allow for the weekly conference meetings.

 

If cloture is invoked, at approximately 2:15pm, the Senate will vote on confirmation of the Glass nomination. Following disposition of the nomination, the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #67 Mike Huckabee, of Arkansas, to be Ambassador to the State of Israel.

 

If cloture is invoked, there will be up to 2 hours of debate prior to a vote on confirmation of the Huckabee nomination. Following disposition of the nomination, the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #55 Peter Hoekstra, of Michigan, to be Ambassador to Canada.

 

Additional roll call votes are possible during Tuesday’s session.

 

Senator Thune has filed cloture on the following nominations:

1.      Executive Calendar #54 George Glass, of Oregon, to be Ambassador to Japan.

2.      Executive Calendar #67 Mike Huckabee, of Arkansas, to be Ambassador to the State of Israel.

3.      Executive Calendar #55 Peter Hoekstra, of Michigan, to be Ambassador to Canada.

4.      Executive Calendar #68 Ronald Johnson, of Florida, to be Ambassador to the United Mexican States.

5.      Executive Calendar #66 Kevin Cabrera, of Florida, to be Ambassador to the Republic of Panama.

6.      Executive Calendar #61 Paul Atkins, of Virginia, to be a Member of the Securities and Exchange Commission.

 

Tuesday, April 8th at approx. 11:30am – 2 roll call votes:
