Following Leader remarks, the Senate will be in a period of Morning Business with Senators permitted to speak therein for up to 10 minutes each. At 11:30am, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session and vote on the motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #61 Paul Atkins, to be a Member of the Securities and Exchange Commission. If cloture is invoked on the Atkins nomination, the Senate will then vote on confirmation of Executive Calendar #67 Mike Huckabee, to be Ambassador to the State of Israel.
At approx. 2:00pm the Senate will vote on confirmation of Executive Calendar #55 Peter Hoekstra, to be Ambassador to Canada, Executive Calendar #68 Ronald Johnson, to be Ambassador to the United Mexican States, and Executive Calendar #66 Kevin Cabrera, to be Ambassador to the Republic of Panama.
At approx. 7:00pm, if cloture is invoked, the Senate will vote on confirmation of Executive Calendar #61 Paul Atkins, of Virginia, to be a Member of the Securities and Exchange Commission. Following disposition of the Atkins nomination, Senator Cruz will be recognized to make a motion to proceed to Cal. #17, H.J.Res.20, Providing for congressional disapproval under chapter 8 of title 5, United States Code, of the rule submitted by the Department of Energy relating to "Energy Conservation Program: Energy Conservation Standards for Consumer Gas-fired Instantaneous Water Heaters"
