The Senate stands adjourned until 10:00am on Thursday, April 10, 2025.

 

Following Leader remarks, the Senate will resume consideration of Cal. #17, H.J.Res.20, disapproving the rule submitted by the Department of Energy relating to "Energy Conservation Program: Energy Conservation Standards for Consumer Gas-fired Instantaneous Water Heaters".

 

At approximately 11:00am, the Senate will vote on passage of the joint resolution. Following disposition of the joint resolution, the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #37 Mark Meador, of Virginia, to be a Federal Trade Commissioner for the term of seven years from September 26, 2024. 

 

If cloture is invoked, there will be up to 2 hours prior to a vote on confirmation of the nomination.

 

During Wednesday’s session, Senator Thune filed cloture on the following nominations:

1. Executive Calendar #75 Lt. Gen. John D. Caine (Retired) for appointment to the permanent grade indicated in the Regular Air Force under the United States Constitution, article II, section 2, clause 2: to be Major General

2. Executive Calendar #74 Lt. Gen. John D. Caine for appointment as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and appointment in the United States Air Force to the grade indicated while assigned to a position of importance and responsibility under title 10, U.S.C., sections 152 and 601: to be General

 

Additional roll call votes are possible during Thursday’s session.
