Schumer Statement On President Trump's Drug Pricing Proposal

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer today released the following statement regarding President Trump's drug pricing proposal:

“It's hard to take the Trump administration and Republicans seriously about reducing health care costs for seniors two weeks before the election when they have repeatedly advocated for and implemented policies that strip away protections for people with pre-existing conditions and lead to increased health care costs for millions of Americans. Just last week, Leader McConnell flat out admitted that Republicans will try to take away health care from Americans if Republicans retain control of Congress, and said that Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security must be cut to offset the cost of tax breaks for corporations and the wealthiest few.”
