Senate Democrats Support President Biden's American Rescue Plan

Senate Democrats join with President Biden to save American lives, support struggling families and get our children safely back to school 

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Senate Democratic Policy and Communications Committee Chairwoman Debbie Stabenow (MI), Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer (NY) and DPCC Vice Chairman Cory Booker (NJ) released a documentsummarizing the goals of the American Rescue Plan and why Senate Democrats support President Biden’s work to combat the pandemic. Senate Democrats are ready to vaccinate Americans, provide checks and vital economic help to families, and get children back to school safely. 

“More than 10 million Americans are out of work, and millions more are worrying about how they’ll pay the rent or mortgage, keep the lights on, and provide food for their families. Democrats know that American families and communities need a bold plan to combat the pandemic, address the economic crisis they face, and get our children back to school safely. We are ready to pass the American Rescue Plan and get our country back on track,” said Senator Stabenow.

“American families are facing a combination of historic health and economic crises that demand big, bold, and immediate action. President Biden’s American Rescue Plan will deliver this necessary action by increasing direct payments, supporting vaccine distribution and testing, helping schools get children safely back into classrooms, and more.  Senate Democrats are working with this new leadership to get this urgent relief to struggling Americans without delay,” said Leader Schumer.
