VIDEO: New Trumpcare Bill Breaks President Trump’s Promise to Cover People with Preexisting Conditions

Senate Republicans’ Newest Version Of Trumpcare Fails To Protect Americans With Preexisting Conditions – Senate GOP Bill Is Another Broken Promise By President Trump, Who “Insisted” That Preexisting Conditions Would Be Covered Trump In April: “Preexisting Conditions Are In the Bill” – But Newest GOP Healthcare Bill Would Actually Destabilize Markets and Undermine Coverage for Millions of Americans With Preexisting Conditions Senate Dems: It’s Time To Drop Disastrous Bill & Work In Bipartisa

Washington, DC – U.S. Senate Democrats today released a video showing that, despite President Trump’s vows to protect those with preexisting conditions, the Senate Republicans’ newest version of Trumpcare would fundamentally undermine coverage protections for Americans with preexisting conditions. The newest GOP health care bill flies directly in the face of Trump’s  assurance that those with preexisting conditions would not be forced to pay more for coverage or even lose their coverage altogether. The bill even includes the Cruz amendment, which health policy experts have said would be a give-away to insurers and could be detrimental for many Americans. Senate Democrats today urged Republicans to drop this disastrous bill and work with them in a bipartisan way to improve, not sabotage, the American health care system.

TRUMP: Let me just tell you.

DICKERSON: --will be helped.

TRUMP: Pre-existing conditions are in the bill. And I just watched another network than yours, and they were saying, "Pre-existing is not covered." Pre-existing conditions are in the bill. And I mandate it. I said, "Has to be." [CBS Face the Nation, 4/30/17]
