Majority Leader Schumer Floor Remarks On The Senate Continuing Its Work To Advance and Confirm President Biden’s Well-Qualified Executive and Judicial Nominees

Washington, D.C.– Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) today spoke on the Senate floor on continuing the work of confirming President Biden’s nominees this week. Below are Senator Schumer’s remarks, which can also be viewed here:

It’s been another busy week here on the Senate floor on nominations.

Yesterday, we confirmed Hernan Vera to serve as a District Judge for the Central District of California and Jared Bernstein to be Chairman of the CEA, the Council of Economic Advisors.

Today, the Senate will continue our work by voting to confirm another district judge, Casey Pitts for the Northern District of California, and advance two more district judges today, Dale Ho of the Southern District of New York and Nusrat Choudhury of the Eastern District of New York.

This week, we’ll also advance the nomination of Julie Rikelman to be a Circuit Court judge for the First Circuit.

So, it’s a big week for judges here in the Senate. I thank my colleagues for their work.
