Majority Leader Schumer Floor Remarks Providing An Update On Avoiding A Government Shutdown

Washington, D.C. – Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) today spoke on the Senate floor to provide an update on legislation to avoid a shutdown after filing cloture on the motion to proceed to H.R. 3935. Below are Senator Schumer’s remarks:

I have just filed cloture to move forward on FAA.

As I have said for months, we must work in a bipartisan fashion to keep our government open, avoid a shutdown, and avoid inflicting unnecessary pain on the American people. This action will give the Senate the option to do just that.
