Majority Leader Schumer Floor Remarks Ahead Of Vote To Confirm Historic Judicial Nominee Arun Subramanian

Washington, D.C. – Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) today spoke on the Senate floor ahead of the vote to confirm Arun Subramanian to the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. Below are Senator Schumer’s remarks, which can also be viewed here:

Today, I'm very proud that the Senate will vote to confirm a highly qualified judicial nominee whom I recommended, Arun Subramanian.

If confirmed, he will be the first–the first–South Asian judge in the Southern District of New York, which has one of the largest, if not the largest, South Asian populations in the country. He's a great judge. I’m looking forward to him serving well on the bench.
