Majority Leader Schumer Floor Remarks On The Senate Continuing To Confirm President Biden’s Critical Nominees To The Judiciary And Executive Branch

Washington, D.C.–Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) today spoke on the Senate floor regarding the Senate’s continued work to confirm vital nominations submitted to the Senate by President Biden. Below are Senator Schumer’s remarks, which can also be viewed here:    

Today, we’ll confirm two more district judges: Tiffany Cartwright to serve in the Western District of Washington and Myong Joun to serve in the District of Massachusetts.

We will also move forward on two executive nominations: Kalpana Kotagal to be a Member of the EEOC, and David Uhlmann to be an Assistant Administrator of the EPA.

Ms. Kotagal is exceptionally qualified to serve on the EEOC, and if confirmed, she would shift the balance of the commission.

So, it’s going to be a busy day on the Senate floor with several votes on nominees, and I thank my colleagues for their cooperation.
