Later this morning, I will join my Democratic colleagues on the floor to ask unanimous consent to pass the Assault Weapons Ban, among other gun safety legislation.

I’ll have more to say before the unanimous consent request, but right now, the scourge of gun violence in America is a national crisis. I hope my Republican colleagues stand with us to take action that Americans demand.
