Majority Leader Schumer Statement On Bipartisan FAA Reauthorization Bill Advancing Out Of Committee

Washington, D.C. – Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) today released the following statement on the need to move quickly to pass the bipartisan FAA Reauthorization bill:

"The Senate has been working diligently to move a bipartisan FAA Reauthorization bill that first and foremost ensures safety – for pilots, the crew and passengers.

"I want to congratulate the Senate Commerce Committee—under Chairwoman Cantwell’s Leadership—on marking-up this crucial bipartisan legislation that will make our skies safer.

"For years I have worked closely with the families of Flight 3407 to protect the 1500-hour rule and keep passengers and crews safe. I am pleased this bill will protect that vital requirement and continue to save countless lives.

"I will move as quickly as possible to get an FAA Reauthorization passed and signed into law."
