New York, N.Y. – Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) today released the following statement after speaking with President Zelenskyy about the national security supplemental passed earlier this week:
“I was honored to speak this morning with President Zelenskyy, who called to thank me following the Senate’s passage of the national security supplemental. When I met with President Zelenskyy in Lviv, I assured him of the United States’ steadfast commitment to Ukraine and that we would get Ukraine the tools they need to beat back Putin’s illegal invasion. Today, the Biden administration is working at warp speed to deliver the critical weapons Ukraine so desperately needs to go on offense against Russian aggression. I made clear to President Zelenskyy that the United States, our allies in NATO and partners around the world, and Ukraine together will make Vladimir Putin regret the day he ever questioned American resolve and the resolve of democracies to fight back against authoritarian aggression.”
