Majority Leader Schumer Statement On CBO Report Showing Trump’s Tax Cuts For The Wealthy Will Weaken Jobs And Shrink The Economy

Washington, D.C. – Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) today released the following statement after the CBO report revealed that Donald Trump’s tax cuts for the wealthy will harm job growth and weaken the economy:

“Americans were not fooled by the first Trump tax scam – and they won’t be fooled by the second one. This report should be a flashing red light for all Republicans planning another tax giveaway for the wealthiest few – it means fewer jobs and slower growth. Congress should make the economy work better for the middle class – not make the working class work harder to get ahead. Rather than making sure that corporations and billionaires pay their fair share, Donald Trump wants to give them an even bigger share.”
