Majority Leader Schumer Statement On Extremist MAGA Judges Undermining Abortion Rights By Limiting Access To Mifepristone

New York, N.Y. – Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) today released the following statement on the Fifth Circuit appellate court undermining the FDA’s lawful expansion of access to safe medication abortion:

“The majority MAGA panel of judges on the Fifth Circuit appellate court continue to undermine the FDA’s lawful expansion of access to safe medication abortion based on dubious legal grounds and baseless pseudo-science. These extremist judges are putting their own anti-choice opinions before the medical expertise of providers and the FDA and the interests of patients. Senate Democrats will continue to fight back against this right-wing campaign against women.”
