Majority Leader Schumer Statement On Federal Appeals Court Decision Curtailing Access To Mifepristone
Washington, D.C. – Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) today released the following statement on the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals decision restricting access to abortion drug mifepristone:
“Another extreme court ruling, another reminder that the MAGA agenda is about taking away a women’s right to choose, brick-by-brick. This baseless lawsuit should have never been heard, let alone find its way to the Supreme Court.
“The FDA ruled mifepristone safe over two decades ago, but the hard MAGA right continues to seek its abolition with no legal basis. For as long as the extreme MAGA Republicans continue to push their anti-choice agenda on all Americans, Democrats will keep fighting and we will prevail.”
