Majority Leader Schumer Statement On Fitch Downgrading U.S. Credit Rating

Washington, D.C. – Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) today released the following statement after Fitch downgraded the U.S. credit rating from AAA to AA+. Below is Senator Schumer’s statement:

“The downgrade by Fitch shows that House Republicans’ reckless brinksmanship and flirtation with default has negative consequences for the country. Republicans need to learn from their mistakes and never push our country to the brink of default again.”
