Majority Leader Schumer Statement On President Biden’s Veto Of Republicans’ Counterproductive And Restrictive ESG Rollback

New York, N.Y. –  Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) released the following statement after President Biden issued his first veto defending the Labor Department’s ESG directive:

“This veto was totally appropriate. For House Republicans to tell American companies they cannot pursue profits and societal goals when they wish to would be counterproductive and un-American. MAGA Republicans were ostrich-like in their actions, putting their heads in the sand, denying the realities of the changing world and trying to force American companies to do the same. This veto was the right thing for American companies and families alike."
