Majority Leader Schumer Statement On The One-Year Anniversary Of The Bipartisan CHIPS And Science Act Becoming Law

New York, N.Y. – Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) today released the following statement marking one year since the CHIPS and Science Act became law:

“Today marks one year since the historic bipartisan CHIPS and Science bill I helped author finally became law. CHIPS and Science is one of the most significant pieces of legislation passed in decades to ensure good-paying jobs return back to America and enable the U.S. to not just keep – but cement– our lead in science and national security. For the past year, the CHIPS and Science Act has proven to be the catalyst needed to solidify America’s global leadership in innovation, strengthen our national security, drive down costs for consumers, bring major private investment and thousands of jobs back from overseas, and breathe new life and renewed hope into communities across the United States.

“Since President Biden took office, Democrats in Congress have worked hand-in-hand with the Administration to fight for American families by rebuilding the economy and lowering costs.
