Schumer Response to President Trump’s Shutdown Threat Over Border Wall Funding

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Charles E. Schumer released the below statement in response to President Trump’s threat during a rally last night in Arizona to shut down the government over funding for a border wall:

“If the President pursues this path, against the wishes of both Republicans and Democrats, as well as the majority of the American people, he will be heading towards a government shutdown which nobody will like and which won’t accomplish anything.”
