Schumer Statement On Federal Court Ruling That The Entire Affordable Care Act And All Its Health Care Protections Are Unconstitutional

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer today released the following statement regarding U.S. District Judge Reed O’Connor’s ruling that the Affordable Care Act, and all its vital health care protections, are unconstitutional:

“If this awful ruling is upheld in the higher courts, it will be a disaster for tens of millions of American families, especially for people with pre-existing conditions.

“The ruling seems to be based on faulty legal reasoning and hopefully it will be overturned. Americans who care about working families must do all they can to prevent this district court ruling from becoming law.”
