Schumer Statement on Graham-Cassidy and Future of Health Care Repeal Effort

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer today released the below statement following Senate Republicans’ decision not to hold a vote on Graham-Cassidy:

“President Trump and our Republican colleagues should learn that the American people do not want to cut health care. If they try it a third time, they will fail again for the simple reason that the public is against what they want to do.

“Instead of trying to cut health care, we Democrats are ready, willing and eager to work to improve our health care system in line with the work of Senators Murray and Alexander, who are very close to an agreement.”
