Schumer Statement On Health Care Rate Increases In Oregon

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer today released the following statement regarding the proposed increase in 2019 premium rates in Oregon: 

“Another state, another needless spike in health care premiums for middle-class families because of the Trump-GOP sabotage of our health care system. The fact of the matter is that, like other states, Oregon’s rates do not need to be this high but Republicans chose to systemically dismantle the American health care system - instead of working with Democrats to improve it - and now middle-class families are feeling the pinch.

“Despite Oregon’s action to mitigate some of the damaging effects of this Trump-GOP health care sabotage, Republicans still won’t be able to skirt ownership of the skyrocketing health care costs in this country.”
