Schumer Statement On Sen. McConnell Doubling Down On Support For Lawsuit That Will Strip Protections For Pre-Existing Conditions

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer today released the following statement regarding Leader McConnell’s support of the Texas lawsuit that would strip away health care protections from people with pre-existing conditions:

 “Leader McConnell has made it crystal clear that Republicans are for eliminating protections for pre-existing conditions. In recent days, Leader McConnell has also made clear that, given another two years in the majority, Republicans would attempt to repeal the health care law and may pursue cuts to Medicare, Social Security, and Medicaid to address a deficit they created. The contrast with the Democratic platform on health care could not be starker: Republicans want Americans to pay more for less care, Democrats believe every American should have better, more affordable health care.”
