Schumer Statement On Senate Dems’ Successful Effort To Have Postmaster General DeJoy Testify Before Senate Oversight Hearing

Washington, D.C.—Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) today released the following statement after Senate Democrats’ successful effort to have Postmaster General Louis DeJoy testify before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee on recent changes in the Postal Service that have left Americans across the country struggling with delayed mail deliveries:

“I am pleased that immense pressure from Senate Democrats and the American people have forced Senate Republicans to confront Postmaster General DeJoy’s ongoing sabotage of the Postal Service that threatens the integrity of our elections and delays vital services. Democrats will keep demanding USPS reverse course and continue holding Mr. DeJoy accountable for the harmful impacts his directives have had, especially on our veterans, seniors, and small businesses.”
