Washington, D.C. — Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) today released the following statement after the Senate confirmed Shana Broussard to be Commissioner on the Federal Election Commission (FEC), the first African American to serve on the FEC. Leader Schumer recommended Ms. Broussard’s nomination to the White House.

I’m proud to have recommended her for this historic nomination.
