Schumer Statement On The Passing Of Cokie Roberts

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer today released the following statement on the passing of journalist Cokie Roberts:

“Cokie Roberts’s passing is a tremendous loss for her friends, her family, her profession, and her country. She was a pioneer who led the way for so many women in journalism who came after her. My prayers are with her husband Steven, her children, and her whole family today. I first met Cokie 50 years ago when she was a producer for ‘It’s Academic,’ a high school quiz show, and I was a team member for Madison High School. Cokie Roberts was one of the best journalists I’ve ever met.”
