Schumer Statement on the Release of the Schiff Memo

“The Democratic memo makes clear that Chairman Nunes cherry-picked and distorted information from sensitive intelligence to sow discord and undermine our nation's premier law enforcement agency - the FBI.

When it comes to the Russians interfering in our elections, the president, Chairman Nunes, Speaker Ryan and other House Republicans need to stop playing partisan politics and stoking conspiracies and instead let both the Congressional and Special Counsel Mueller’s investigations run their course, unimpeded.  

By initially delaying the release of the memo, the president purposefully silenced any Democratic rebuttal to the fabricated conspiracy theories pushed by Chairman Nunes. Obviously, there is something the president is afraid of.”
