Schumer Statement On Trump Administration’s COVID-19 Testing Changes

Brooklyn, N.Y. — Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) today released the following statement on the Trump administration’s failure to address the COVID-19 pandemic after reporting that the CDC changed its testing guidelines to exclude people without COVID-19 symptoms even if they have been exposed:

“The utter failure to establish a robust national testing system is the very core of President Trump‘s incompetence in handling the pandemic. He thinks that by ignoring the truth of 180,000 deaths he can just sweep COVID-19 under the rug and no one will notice his failures. But his denial only makes things worse.”
