Schumer Statement on Trump Administration’s Failure to Deliver Infrastructure Plan for the American People

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer today released the following statement regarding the Trump Administration’s failure to deliver an infrastructure plan for the American people:

“Before President Trump was sworn into office, Democrats said we could and would work with him to come up with a bipartisan infrastructure plan. Democrats presented the president with a trillion dollar proposal – just like he promised on the campaign trail – but instead, President Trump took a partisan route, first attempting to take healthcare away from millions of Americans, then giving massive tax cuts to the wealthiest and biggest corporations. When the Administration finally released an infrastructure proposal, it relied on cuts to existing and vital projects and the creation of new tolls from coast to coast. ‘Infrastructure Week’ for this White House was nothing more than a toothless PR stunt—clearly they were not serious about re-building our failing infrastructure and creating millions of good-paying jobs.”
