Schumer Statement Urging Leader McConnell To Bring The Bipartisan House-Passed Resolution Demanding President Trump Reverse Course In Syria To The Senate Floor

Washington, D.C. – Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) today released the following statement calling on Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to quickly put the resolution opposing the president’s decision in Syria on the Senate floor for debate and vote, after the House passed the legislation with an overwhelming bipartisan majority: 

“President Trump is the only one who can fix the calamity that he created in Syria. There is no better way to pressure the president to undo the damaging and dangerous actions he has taken than to pass this bipartisan resolution that does just that. I urge leader McConnell to put the bill on the floor immediately. The lives of Kurds - and our national security - are at stake.”
